Pepper Description:

Introduced by Joseph Harris & Co. in 1935. Hot Portugal is a sturdy pepper plant that is vigorous in growth and it is this structure that provides large numbers of fruit. Peppers are an average of 6-7 long and about 1 1/2 at the shoulder tapering to a point. Hot Portugal peppers start off green and soon turn into a glossy lipstick red. Ripens early compared to other peppers making it a perfect pepper for market. Scoville on this can vary greatly, some come in at jalapeno (5000) level while some can be a blistering 50,000. We think the conditions they grow in can greatly affect this heat level.

Unlike others, we do not buy seeds from outside sources. Our plants are hand grown with tender loving care. Your purchase helps us to continue our quest to organically produce premium seeds here on our farm.
